My Approach and Focus
I see psychotherapy as an interpersonal and continuously evolving process of caring for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Client and therapist are engaged in understanding how the client experiences their interactions with others. The therapist is also attuned to how she experiences the client’s emotional process and uses this to further their work together.
My Clinical Experience
In my clinical experience as counselling therapist and sandplay therapist over 30 years, I have been in private and agency practice as counsellor, manager, and supervisor. I am a senior Teaching Member of the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. I am a registered member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#980) and approved Clinical supervisor. I am an advanced candidate in the Jungian psychoanalytic training program of the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts in Toronto.
My Practice
My practice today combines clinical work with adults, teaching, supervising and consulting. Since 2006, I have taught and supervised sandplay certification students in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, South Korea and Malta and led workshops in Vancouver for play therapists and Master’s students at Simon Fraser University. I have presented papers on sandplay at conferences in Canada and internationally, and published articles in several journals.
